Martin Raymond Heinsch , 71, of Owatonna passed away at his home on April 14, 2008, following a bold two and a half year battle with lung cancer. He was born January 21, 1937 in Minneapolis. Marty trusted Christ for his salvation at a young age. He was a long time member of Bethel Church in Owatonna. He was graduated from Mound High School in 1954 and attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. Following college, he worked for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. After several years of selling Dodge cars and trucks, he became an over-the-road truck driver - an occupation he loved for over 35 years. The majority of those years were with Q-Carriers of Prior Lake. Marty delighted in his family. He was a skilled mechanic, an avid NASCAR fan and a man of optimism. Because his Savior lives, so does he. Marty is survived by his forever valentine of 49 years, Sandie (Miller); children: Gregg (Heidi) of Orlando, FL; Gail (Tim) Howard of Elk River; Gretch (Jon) Nordman of Owatonna; Glenn (Mindy) of Maple Plain; Faith (Ross) Lustig of Owatonna; Heather (Chad) Flies of Eden Prairie and 14 cherished grandchildren. Brothers: Doug of Corcoran and David (Joni) of Mound. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen V. (Johnson) Heinsch. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7 pm and at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie on Friday from 1-2 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie. Interment will be at Owatonna Memorial Gardens.
