Marvin Norden Johnson, 81, of Owatonna passed away on February 19, 2024.

He was born on March 27, 1942, in Waseca, the son of Archie W. and Adeline (Stoltz) Johnson. He attended Waseca Schools and graduated in 1960. Following high school he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. When he returned he dedicated his career to various sales positions and other self employment endeavors. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his job. On April 16, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sharon Hanson. She was the love of his life for 57 years. She was his devoted caretaker since his stroke in 2004 and his complications due to Agent Orange exposure. Marv was an avid outdoors enthusiast. He found joy in hunting, fishing and admiring wildlife from his country home that he often referred to as his little piece of heaven. He especially enjoyed time with, and training, his dog Ace. Marv found solace at St. John Lutheran Church near Claremont where he worshiped.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Johnson of Owatonna sister Sharlene (George) Winegar of Waseca, brothers Norman (Sheila) Johnson of Waseca, Larry (Linda) Johnson of Janesville; sister-in-law Lois Johnson of Waseca, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sheila Johnson, sister Norma Sampson and brother Archie D. Johnson

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
