Obituary

Mary Lou Hanson, age 84, of Kasson died Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Prairie Meadows Senior Living in Kasson.

Mary Lou was born July 11, 1941, in Kasson to Paul and Joy (Osborn) Urch. She graduated from West Concord High School in 1959 and attended Mankato State University for one year.

Mary Lou was united in marriage to Glenn Hanson on April 27, 1962, in West Concord. Over the years, she was employed at Roberts Brothers Hardware in West Concord and Walmart in Rochester. Mary Lou was a member of Faith Community Church (formerly First Baptist Church) in West Concord, where she participated in AWANA and Sunday School. She enjoyed taking care of her plants, bringing flowers to adorn graves at Concord Cemetery, and watching her "soaps" on tv.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 63 years, Glenn; son, Leslie (Beth) Hanson of Shelby Township, MI; son-in-law, Brian Elton of Rochester; six grandchildren, Sydney and Collin Elton, Jenna, Karson, Brooke and Faith Hanson; brother, John (Kathryn) Urch of Viroqua, WI; sister-in-law, Phyllis Urch of Owatonna; also other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill and a brother, Duane.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Faith Community Church in West Concord. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm on Sunday at the church. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to an organization of the donor's choice.
