Mary-Louise Paffrath, 92, of Owatonna, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born December 28, 1917 in Mankato, Minnesota the daughter of William and Myrtle (Hedberg) Skoog. Graduated from Mankato High School in 1935. She married Gordon Paffrath May 4, 1944 in Glendale, CA, and moved to Owatonna in 1945. The couple owned and operated Paffraths Paint Bar together for twenty-eight years. Mary-Louise later worked part time doing bookkeeping at Paffrath Jewelers from 1975-1997. She was a member of the United Methodist church, Eastern Star, a charter member of the Centennial Club, life member of the Steele County Historical Society, fifty-five year member of the Owatonna Country Club, and was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader for many years. Her son, Gordon Paffrath of Owatonna, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Melinda Maltezos, and brother William Skoog. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 PM and at the United Methodist Church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church with Pastor Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato. Memorials are preferred to United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
