Mary Lou Nordby went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 22, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Mary Lou was born in 1940 to Robert and Mildred (Kruckeberg) Kubista and she grew up near Bixby Mn with her siblings. Mary Lou attended a country school and graduated from Dodge Center High School. She then attended Concordia College for 1 year. Mary Lou met Luverne Herman Zacharias at Thompson's Country Store where she worked in Meriden, Mn. They married and raised their children on a small farm north of Meriden. Luverne passed away in 1977 of lung cancer. Later she met Paul Olaf Nordby and remarried in 1983, adding 4 step sons to the family. Mary Lou worked as a kindergarten teacher at El Shaddai Christian School for many years. She loved tending her flowers, feeding the song birds, and baking with her family.

Mary Lou leaves behind her husband Paul Nordby, children Teresa (Kevin) Crowley, Lori (Tim) Schiltz, Martin (Paula) Zacharias, Lila (Martin) Malecha, John (Misty) Zacharias, Luverne (Danielle) Zacharias, Stephen (Rebekah) Zacharias; her stepchildren Shelly [Zacharias] (Doug) Long, Mike (Renee) Nordby, Gary (Dorothy) Nordby, Bob (Crystal) Nordby, Andrew Nordby, 29 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Christian Family Church on July 12th. A service will begin at 10am, with time for fellowship with family beginning at 9am and again following the service. A private burial with the family will follow.
