Mary C. Tellijohn, 72, of Owatonna, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at her home. She was born August 21, 1939 in Le Sueur, Minnesota the daughter of Maurice and Geraldine (White) O''Brien. Mary graduated with the class of 1957 from Le Sueur, MN High School, and then attended the College of St. Benedict. She was united in marriage to Neil Tellijohn on August 29, 1959 in Le Sueur. After marriage the couple lived in Fort Eustis, Virginia and Hawaii while Neil served in the Armed Forces. Mary and Neil moved to Owatonna in 1971. She devoted much of her time volunteering at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, including the Religious Education Program for over 41 years, church choir leader for 32 years, and dedicated her life to the service of the poor. Mary's greatest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed "Mimi Thursdays" with her grandchildren, gardening, and music. She is survived by her husband Neil Tellijohn of Owatonna, children Laura (Gary) Kirby- Mueller of St. Charles, Lisa Tellijohn of Owatonna, Juli (Greg) Chapman of Burnsville, Joni (Doug) Oeltjenbruns of Owatonna, Kris (Karin) Tellijohn of Owatonna, Pete (Kelly) Tellijohn of Owatonna, and Dan (Melissa) Tellijohn of Owatonna. Mary is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister Peggy (Charlie) Johnson of Janesville, and brother Michael O''Brien of Prior Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a great grandson. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday September 14, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary beginning at 4:00 PM. A visitation hour begins at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday September 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Andrew Vogel officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to the Mary Tellijohn Memorial Fund to support her continued works of service.
