Mary Delores Warehime , 71, of Pine Island, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Evergreen Place in Pine Island after a lengthy battle with COPD. She was born April 28, 1939 in Kilkenny, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph and Delora 'Toots' (Blaschko) Shaughnessy. She was raised in Le Center, MN where she attended St. Mary''s Grade School through 8th grade, and then she attended Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, MN where she graduated in 1957. She went to Rochester to St. Mary''s Hospital where she was employed as a Nurses Aide for 2 years. She then met Jerry Warehime and they were married April 8th, 1961. They were divorced 33 years later. She cooked for several years at different establishments and was both a health and day care giver for many people in the Pine Island area, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also worked at Wal-Mart in Faribault and Rochester and retired in 2004. She lived with her daughters in Stewartville for several years and then in 2005, because of failing health moved into Assisted Living at Evergreen Place in Pine Island where she has lived ever since. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary in Pine Island. She loved her crafts and was very active with them all throughout her life. She headed up the craft club at Evergreen Place which she took great pride in. Her goal while at Evergreen was to get everyone involved and to see the smiles on their faces as they learned new things. She spent many hours in her craft room working on projects to give away or to teach the other residents. However, the greatest pride in her life were her 9 grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children Diane Watson of St. Peter, Debbie Warehime of Stewartville, Donald Warehime of Wasioja, Denise Warehime of St. Peter, Darla (Zane) Schletty of West Concord, Danelle (Mark) Dykes of Mazeppa. 9 grandchildren: Jacob and Adam Warehime, Courtney and Cody Schletty, Hanna Watson, Hailey, Tyler, Casey and Natalie Dykes.
