Maurice Boze K. Bosshardt, 86, of Owatonna, passed away on Thursday, March 9,2017. He was born June 16, 1930 in Morristown, Minnesota and graduated from Faribault High School in 1948. He married Lorrain Nauss on January 6, 1951 in Faribault, and soon afterward moved to Camp (now Fort) Rucker, Alabama to join the 135th Infantry Division of the US Army, serving as a rifle instructor until his honorable discharge in May 1952. They returned to Faribault and then moved to Owatonna in 1953. Boze worked at the Hi-Way Furniture store in Owatonna for 44 years and then as a furniture repairman at the Medford Outlet Center before retiring at the age of 80. Boze enjoyed fishing, hunting big game out West, taking summer vacations with his family, and restoring his sons' cars. In his later years, he enjoyed pheasant hunting with his beloved dogs. He is survived by his wife, Lorrain Bosshardt of Owatonna; sons, Mike (Kathy) Bosshardt of Minneapolis, Chuck (Julie) Bosshardt of Owatonna, Rich (Sue) Bosshardt of Bloomington; grandchildren, Michelle (Dan) Rynda, Tanya (Greg) Cooper, Bryan Bosshardt, Kelsey and Jake Bosshardt; and great grandchildren, Allison and Adam Rynda, Tyler and Jared Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Mabel (Knauss) Bosshardt; brothers, Merle and John Bosshardt; and sister, Marge Schreiber. A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 750 Jeffrey St, Owatonna on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11 am, with the visitation one hour prior to the service. Full military honors will be conducted following the service at the church. Private interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
