Mavis Delight Tungland, 77, of Kenyon, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Kenyon Sunset Home.
She was born on November 18, 1940 in Jackson, Minnesota the daughter of Thor and Jeanette (Nelson) Tungland. She grew up in Jackson where she graduated from high school in 1958. She worked as a secretary at Railway Motors in Fairmont, legal secretary for Jack Halloran in Jackson, legal secretary for Frank Peterson in Kenyon, then went to work at Malt-O-Meal in Northfield and Salt Lake City and retired from Title Protection in Fairbault. For the last year she has resided in Kenyon. Mavis enjoyed reading, listening to Christian Music and spending time with family. She was an avid sports fan following the Vikings and Timberwolves and Utah Jazz.
She is survived by brothers, Gary Tungland of Faribault and Roger Tungland of Rochester; sister in law, Mary Jo Tungland of Frost; nieces and nephews, Eric Tungland of Columbia, SC, Troy (Robyn) Tungland of Rochester, Travis Tungland of Fairmont, Kelly Tungland of St. Paul, Cristi Tungland of Faribault, Shaun Tungland of Frost, Nicole (Rick) Wright of Frost and Nathan Tungland of Frost.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thor and Jeanette and brother, Larry Tungland;
A Memorial Service will be held on June 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery.
