Maxcine M. Wolfe, 86, of Owatonna, died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Sholom Home West, St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Maxine was born July 1, 1922 in Faribault, MN, the daughter of Archibald and Vera (Swanson) Tischler. She was raised in Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School. Maxcine was united in marriage to Douglas Wolfe on October 17, 1942 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She returned to Faribault while Douglas served overseas during WWII. In 1963, they moved to Owatonna. Her husband, Douglas, preceded her in death in 2007. Maxcine was very active in the Hospital Auxiliary and with the American Red Cross. She delivered Meals on Wheels and was active with her church. She was an avid gardener and knitted caps for newborns at the hospital. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and cross stitching. Maxcine is survived by a son, David (and Susan) Wolfe of Hopkins; two brothers-in-law, Richard Wolfe of Roswell, GA; Cyril Wolfe of Naples, FL; aunt, Mae Duge of Sun City, AZ; a niece, Vicki (and Scott) Thornberg of Burnsville, MN; and their three children, Shaun Thornberg, Tiffany Thornberg and April (and Burt) Johnson. She was preceded in death by his husband Douglas, her parents Archibald 'Archie' and Vera Tischler; and her sister, Janet "Tiny'. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the Meadow Ridge Cemetery in Faribault. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church of Owatonna.
