Meryl Elaine Nuszloch, 87, of Owatonna, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Homestead Hospice House.
She was born November 17, 1930 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Irvin and Myrtle (Ditlevson) Jensen, Sr. She grew up on a farm north of Ellendale. After graduation from high school, she moved to Owatonna where she worked for Federated Insurance in the actuary department for 41 years, retiring in 1994. She also worked with the Early Childhood Program and Steele County Public Health. She enjoyed bowling, going to Twins games and quilting with the church ladies. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Meryl volunteered at the Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross and The Clothes Line.
She is survived by her children, Cheri (David) Jirele of Cornelius, NC, and Steven (Diane) Rypka of Owatonna; sister, Luella Hatteberg of Blooming Prairie; sister-in-law, Kathy Jensen of Clarks Grove; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jason) Nixdorf and Michael (Molly) Jirele; great-grandchildren, Griffin, Ansely and Aubrey Nixdorf and Madilyn, Jacoby, John and Maxwell, Jirele and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Irvin and Myrtle Jensen. Sr. and a brother, Irvin Jensen, Jr.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Sunday, February 11th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Danish Baptist Cemetery in Blooming Prairie. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund.
