Michael J. Corbin, 46, of Owatonna, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
Mike was born January 7, 1970 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of John and Linda (Mischley) Corbin. He was a graduate of Gaylord High School in Michigan, honors graduate of the University of Michigan and of Hamline University School of Law. During his college years, Mike was a member of ROTC Navy. He was currently heading Corbin Law Office in Faribault, Minnesota in addition to having been an elected official, published author, a college professor, and widely acknowledged legal authority. He was a frequent lecturer at legal training seminars and an accomplished aviator.
Mike had an adventurous spirit and deep passion for life. He was intensely involved with his children and their activities. He shared his love of United States History with his son. He loved cars and belonged to several car clubs. Mike was spontaneous and adventurous. He traveled world wide and especially enjoyed Europe and Asia. His desire to learn led him to space camp where he gained his interest of being an astronaut and of space.
Mike was engaged to be married to Ashley Braxton. Together they resided in Owatonna along with their puppy, Penelope. They shared many interests together including: music, fashion, trying new foods, theatre, and travel.
He is survived by his fianc�©, Ashley Braxton of Owatonna, MN; his children, Deshawn Corbin and Emma Corbin, and their mother, Julie Anderson all of Medford, MN; many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Michael's life will be held 5:00 PM on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna. Visitation will be held 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday at Michaelson Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research or donor's choice.
