Michael Anthony Herold, 60, of Minneapolis, formerly of West Concord, died Saturday, May 26, 2018 while doing his favorite thing, running. He was born September 4, 1957 in Rochester the son of Gene and Marianne (Jarstad) Herold. The family moved to West Concord when Mike was 4 years old. He graduated from West Concord High School in 1975. He then went to Mankato State to become a paramedic and worked at North Memorial with the ambulance service. While working he continued his education at Hamline Law School graduating in 1994. On June 1, 1991 Mike married Diane Clement and the couple had two children, Beth and Joe. Mike ran in many marathons across the country. He ran marathons in Chicago, at Disney World, the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth and the Boston marathon three times including the one in 2013. He was planning to run in Amsterdam later this year and then quit running. He also enjoyed going to the boundary waters. Mike was employed at Eide Bailey LLP as Director of State and Local Tax. He traveled all over the United States for his job. He is survived by his wife, Diane Herold of Minneapolis; daughter, Beth Herold; son, Joe Herold; sister, Patty (and Gary) Braeger; brother, Jim (and Debra) Herold; parents, Gene (and Marianne) Herold of West Concord and many nieces nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 2pm at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel with Reverend Thomas Niehaus officiating.
