Michael D. "Mike" Shouse, 52, of Owatonna, died April 22, 2019 at his home. Michael Dean was born in Waterloo, IA, the son of Jerry and Claire (Boring) Shouse. Mike, also known as Big Papa, was a jack of all trades. He was a hard-worker from the start, working a majoirty of his career in the construction industry. He was an honest man with a big heart and loved his family dearly. His nickname, "Big Papa," said it all. Mike was known as a father figure to many, and his love for his grandkids could not be surpassed. He loved watching the Vikings and Dog the Bounty Hunter. He also had a long-time love for Shania Twain, and was a big fan of anything Harley-Davidson. He will be missed by his children, Leah Hanson of Meriden, Dalton Stone-Shouse of Owatonna, Andrew Hanson, Tony Goodman, Nyomi Stone, Marlana King, Rainbow Mata, and Jessica Hendricks; father, Jerry (Phyllis) Shouse of Owatonna; twin sister, Michelle (Jeffery) Nelson-Bull of Ellendale; brother, Mark Shouse of Owatonna; grandkids, Olivia Caballero and Trenton Holicky; nieces, Natasha, Brittany, and Sabrina; and nephews, Nathan and Nick. He was preceded in death by his mother, Claire; brother, Glenn; and granddaughter, Nyomi Neveaux-Stone. Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 29, 2019 from 1-4pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with memory sharing beginning at 3pm. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. After the Celebration of Life at the funeral home, the family invites Mike's loved ones to bring a dish to pass and join them for a potluck gathering at the big pavilion in Dartts Park.
