Michelle Lea Groeneweg, 44, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Owatonna Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1973 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin the daughter of Darrell and Laurinia (Rickard) Johnson. She grew up in Geneva and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1991. Following her schooling, she worked at the potato factory in Hollandale. She was married and had a son, Andrew and later divorced. Michelle worked as a PCA for All Generations serving clients in Owatonna and Austin, worked for the railroad in Waseca and was currently a housekeeper at Holiday Inn in Owatonna. She was a loving mother and a loyal friend with a warm spirit. She dearly loved her family and was always willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, cooking, spending time with her family and friends and attending Christian Family Church.
She is survived by son, Andrew Groeneweg (Kerry Meehan) of Owatonna; fianc�©, Michael Steele of Owatonna; father, Darrell Johnson of New Lisbon, WI; siblings, Robert Johnson (Becky Meillier) of Owatonna, Gregory Johnson of Owatonna, Charlene (Brian) O'Daffer of Medford, Nicole Stahowik (Clayton Fralick) of Eau Claire, WI, Ashley Stahowik of Medford, Phillip (Ashley) Stahowik of Black River Falls, WI and Megan (Alexander) McCullar of Chippewa Falls, WI and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Laurinia Johnson.
A gathering of friends will be held Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with a Remembrance Service at 1:30 PM all at Christian Family Church in Owatonna. A private burial will take place at a later date.
