Milford "Mickey" G. Johnson, 81, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born August 28, 1928 in Frazee, Minnesota the son of Milford and Frieda (Leehold) Johnson. Mickey grew up in Blooming Prairie and graduated high school there in 1945, and then attended the Minnesota School of Business from 1945-1948. Mickey served in the United States Army from 1948- 1952. Milford married Judy Wagner August 30, 1976. He worked for the Owatonna Post Office for over thirty years, after retirement he then worked at the Owatonna Country Club and Havana Hills, until his stroke in 1999. Mickey loved bowling and watching sports and the news. He was a member of the Owatonna American Legion Color Guard for over forty years. He is survived by his wife Judy of Owatonna, sons David (and Michelle) Johnson of Kasson, Rick Johnson of Rochester, eight children from a previous marriage Mike, Mary, Janet, Julie, Tim, Dan, Tom, and Jill. Two grandchildren Tyler Johnson and Allison Johnson, niece Shelly James, and nephew John James also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marlene James, and niece Vickey James. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday August 26, 2010 from 5-8 PM and at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Friday from 10- 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday August 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor John Weisenberger officiating. Interment will be in the Red Oak Grove Cemetery in Blooming Prairie. The Steele County Military Funeral Unit will provide honors.
