Milton Milt George Ebeling, Jr., 88, of Owatonna, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
He was born June 5, 1930, in Meriden Township, Minnesota the son of Milton and Mabel (Brown) Ebeling. He attended country school in Meriden Township and Aurora Township. He graduated from Owatonna High School, Class of 1949. He was united in marriage to Joyce Linse on January 10, 1953 in Blooming Prairie. The couple operated a dairy farm in Aurora Township in Steele County. Along with dairy farming, Milt worked with the Civil Defense for a short time and at the ASCS office. He served on the Aurora Township Board for many years, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, National Farmers Organization and Associated Church.
Milt was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He dearly missed his wife of 60 years, Joyce, after her passing in October of 2013. They had a loving marriage, raising their family and trips with two close couples each winter to Las Vegas. He also enjoyed hunting trips up near Blackduck with his buddies and most recently rides in the country to look at the crops.
He is survived by his children, Pam (Doug) Hoiland of Rogers, Terry (Tammy) Ebeling of Owatonna and Cindy (Greg) Lammers of Owatonna; nine grandchildren, Grant (Tara) Holthus, Kyle (Nissa Dahle) Holthus, Megan (Ryan) Braun, Michael (Heather) Ebeling, Melissa (Aaron) Jenkins, Emily (Jacob) Anderson, Laura (fianc�©, Nick Chadderdon) Ebeling, Brock Lammers and Beau (Heather) Lammers; great-grandchildren, Bree, Emerson, Amelia, Archer, Logan, Jack, Liam and Dominic and sister, Margaret Matkovic of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Ebeling; siblings, Glodine Jones, Delores Dee and Bill Pirtle, and Charles and Carole Ebeling; and brother-in-law, Joe Matkovic.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7pm and at Associated Church on Thursday from 10-11am. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11am at Associated Church with Reverend Coqui Conkey officiating. A private interment will be held at the Steele Center Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Homestead Hospice House or donor's choice.
