Morris Palmer Rumpho (Romfo), 96, of Kenyon, MN, died Friday, March 16, 2012 at District One Hospital in Faribault, MN. He was born September 2, 1915 in Kenyon, Minnesota, the son of Anders and Marit (Larson) Romfo. Morris graduated with the Kenyon class of 1934, and was in the United States Army from 1942-1945 serving in the South Pacific. Morris was united in marriage to Blanche Miller on April 28, 1950 in St. Paul. The couple lived in Kenyon all their lives where Morris worked for the Kenyon Post Office and later for many years at Foldcraft. He was an avid sports fan, including playing in his younger years and later watching. He also was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Rumpho of Kenyon, five children, Andrew Rumpho of Rochester, Ann (Jim) Heckert of Faribault, Beth (Greg) Ellerbusch of Faribault, Mary (Robert) Rumpho-Kennedy of Orono, Maine, and Mark Rumpho of Missoula, Montana. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Amber (Mark) Hawley, Maia (Matt) Rumpho-Stellpflug, Jacob (Lisa) Heckert, Zachary (Mana) Heckert, Jena (Jeremy) Bothun, Sara Ellerbusch (fianc Josh Sjodin), Caleb (Heather) Kennedy, Alex, Bryce, and Curran Kennedy, and four great grandchildren, Hannah Hawley, Caden and Colton Heckert, and Quinn Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 24, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Luther Mathsen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Kenyon Cemetery with military honors by the Kenyon Veterans Color Guard. Memorials are preferred to First Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Kenyon Sunset Home. Michaelson Funeral Home of Kenyon is handling arrangements.
