Myron Meixner, 86, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Cedarview Care Center. He was born October 29, 1921 in Lemond Township, Minnesota the son of Anton and Frances (Haberman) Meixner. Myron attended Saco country school and agricultural school in Owatonna before he started farming on the family farm. He entered the U.S. Army during WWII, serving during D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He married Liz Benson April 1, 1948 in Owatonna, the couple later divorced. Myron farmed in Lemond Township and sold Trojan seed corn. He was a member of NFO, Eagle Club, and the VFW. Myron enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by one daughter Janet (Richard) Steinberg of Owatonna, three sons Gerald (Marilyn) Of Owatonna, Dennis (Deb) of Bagley, and Kevin (Deb) of Hackensack. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one sister Jane (Robert) Benson of Owatonna. Two sisters, and six brothers preceded him in death. Funeral service will be Thursday March 6, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Avery officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday March 5, 2008 at Michaelson Funeral home from 5-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit.
