At age eight, she received, as a gift, her first book, The English Orphans, sparking a lifelong love of reading. At her father's request, Myrtle became the driver of the family Model T at age ten. Myrtle and Clarion Neseth were united in marriage on June 30, 1939 at Hegre Lutheran Church of West Concord and resided on their farm near Skyberg for most of their married lives. Myrtle worked for many years at Self-Serve, later Owen's Fairway. Her interests included reading, gardening, bird watching, crosswords and cryptograms. Myrtle enjoyed children and spent happy hours with grandchildren, going on real and imaginary adventures, sometimes traveling to Colorado on the John Deere tractor with them. In their retirement years Myrtle and Clarion enjoyed travels with family as well as bus tours. In 1995, they built a home in Kenyon. Clarion died in May of 2002. Myrtle moved to Gunderson Gardens in 2004. At age 90 she treated her self, her children and their spouses to a New England cruise and a good time was had by all!
