Nancy Linda Tuerk, 75, of Owatonna, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, lost her short, but courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024. She was surrounded by family and love.

Nancy was born on August 28th, 1948 in Seattle, Washington to parents Raymond and Magnild Rousseau. She was raised in Seattle, often visiting family in Minnesota, a city girl who cherished her time on the farm. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1971 with a degree in History. She married the love of her life, Burnett, in Seattle later that same year, and moved to the countryside in Minnesota to begin their life together. They went on to have two daughters, Amy and Julie, who were the pride and joy of her life.

Nancy had a life-long, 38 year career at Federated Insurance, where she held multiple positions, and gained many lifelong friends. She was a pillar in her church community at St. John Lutheran in Owatonna, an active member of Altar Guild and Fellowship Committee, along with organizing other fundraising efforts. She was also active in 4-H and the Steele County Extension club for many years.

Nancy was a lover of animals, a green thumb and avid gardener. Her idea of a perfect day was a sunny sky, a slight breeze and ample time to 'putter' in her gardens. She loved to bake and often delivered condolence, love and support through her famous recipes.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Burnett Tuerk of Owatonna; daughters Amy Gray (Chris Hoppenrath) of Dodge Center and Julie Tuerk of Owatonna; grandson Ayden Howard and granddaughter Teigen Gray. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, Godchildren, neighbors and friends.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM . Funeral services will be held March 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Steele Center Cemetery in Owatonna.

Memorials preferred to St. John Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
