Nathan R. Henry, 38, of Owatonna, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at his home. Nathan was born February 11, 1974 in Spokane, Washington the son of Maurice and Sandra (Piukkula) Henry. While growing up, he moved with his family to Rossland, British Columbia, Canada and there he attended school. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1995 and received his honorable discharge in 1999. After his service, Nathan attended ITT School in Austin Texas where he received his Associates Degree. He moved to Austin, Texas where he met his future wife, Stephanie Brom. The couple was married on June 18, 2004 in the Cayman Islands. They continued making their home in Austin where Nathan worked for the Department of Justice. In January 2010 the couple moved to Owatonna where he worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Federal Correctional Institute in Waseca and Sandstone. Nathan was a system administrator working with computers and updating systems. His goal was to someday work for Homeland Security. Nathan loved mountain biking and even participated in races. He also enjoyed being outdoors where he would ride four wheelers, riding dirt bikes, or working on his cars or trucks. He was very mechanical. Nathan enjoyed spending time at the gym as well. Always up for new adventures, Nathan bungeed jumped over the Royal Gorge in Colorado. He also looked forward to one day skydiving. He just recently was taught about fishing and he would take his son Leif to some fishing spots around the area. Nathan was a good man. He was a loving husband, father and friend to many. He is survived by his wife Stephanie Henry of Owatonna; a son Leif Henry at home; his step-father Larry Lukenbill of Rossland, British Columbia; a sister, Dawn Lukenbill of Liberty Lake, WA; a brother Matthew Broxson of Spokane, WA; and his mother-in-law Dolores Sambrano of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Deacon Pat Fagan officiating. Military honors will be provided by Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Toys for Tots.
