Neil Freeman Anderson, 67, of Owatonna, died Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Homestead Hospice House.
He was born April 19, 1954 in Colfax, WA the son of Donald and Manon (Freeman) Anderson. Neil graduated from high school in Garfield, WA. He worked various jobs and helped his dad farm prior to going to college. He graduated from Warner Pacific College in 1979. While at college he met Debra Moss. On June 26, 1982 he married Debra in Newton Falls, OH. The couple lived in various states serving parishes until moving to Owatonna in 1998. He served at the First Church of God in Owatonna and also worked for the Owatonna Bus Company until he retired in 2008.
Neil enjoyed camping, fishing and road trips with his family. He focused on spending time with his grandchildren. He was a railroad enthusiast sure to stop at any railroad station, museum or other railroad attraction while traveling. Neil also enjoyed history and family genealogy. Neil was loving and compassionate to everyone and was known for his encouraging smile. He made a difference in many people's lives until his last days.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Anderson of Owatonna; daughter, Amber (and Aaron) Friesen of Owatonna; son, Marcus (and Jennifer) Anderson of Owatonna; grandchildren, Ryan Anderson, Blake Anderson, Nora Anderson, Otto Friesen, Bianca Friesen, Dorothy Friesen; father, Donald Anderson of Coeur d'Alene, ID; brother, Martin (and Linda) Anderson of Lewiston, ID; sisters, Deana (and Dennis) Hamilton of Juliet, ID, Leanne (and Fred) Helbling of Magna, UT;
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 9am to 10am. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10am at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Stauffer officiating. Interment will be in Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to New Life Community, Beds for Kids or to the donor's choice.
