Norbert J. Wilker, 91, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Owatonna Hospital. He was born December 24, 1916 in Meriden Township the son of John and Martha (Dinse) Wilker. Norbert married Helen Klampe September 1, 1951 at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church in Meriden. Norbert farmed, drove milk truck, and was a carpenter. He was a life member of St. Paul''s Meriden. Norbert enjoyed his grandchildren and family. He was a member of the American Legion, life member of the VFW, and served in the Army during WWII. He was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed hunting, gardening, playing cards, and bowling. Norbert is survived by two daughters Judy (Vernon) McGinley of Owatonna, and Joann (Bill) Blazek of Ames, IA; four grandchildren, brother Marvin (Mary) Wilker of Lake Elsinore, CA, sister Rosena Kopischke of Waseca. His wife, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 8 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden with the Reverend Gary Rusinko officiating. Visitation will be Friday March 7 from 5-8 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Meriden, Cedarview Care Center, or the American Cancer Society.
