Norma Esther Finne, 97, of West Concord, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, Minnesota.
She was born January 29, 1920 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Norman and Clara (Wilkie) Fortwangler. On December 24, 1938, she married George Finne. The couple lived in West Concord since 1941. Esther moved to Faribault in November, 2004 and has resided in the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center for the past seven years. Esther was a devoted wife and mother raising her family. She also cleaned homes in her early years and sold Avon and Stanley products. She was a creative person making drapes, upholstery, purses (all three were her actual business), all types of clothes for her children and stuffed animals. After retiring from her business, she focused on Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She even made some cupboards. She was a member of Tops and Trinity Lutheran Church in West Concord where she was active in the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her children, Anna Mae (Charles) Victor of Marysville, OH, LuVerne (Paula) Finne of West Concord, Orville Finne of West Concord, Russell (Audrey) Finne of West Concord and Ginger (Don) Tune of New Richland; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; grandson, Brandon Tune; granddaughter, Christine Victor and sisters, Alta Mae and Luella Fortwangler.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord with Rev. James Rushton officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.
Memorials preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in West Concord, West Concord Fire Department, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
