Norma Jean Gertie Laue, 69, of Nerstrand, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Northfield Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 13, 1947 in Faribault the daughter of William and Martha (Erich) Schmoll. Norma graduated from Kenyon High School. On March 2, 1968 she married her childhood sweetheart, Larry Laue. The couple had three boys, Todd, Troy and Matthew. Norma worked various jobs prior to her 30 year career as a nursing assistant at the Kenyon Sunset Home. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, feeding and watching birds, flower and vegetable gardening. She was an amazing cook and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Todd (and Nicole) Laue of Menomonie, WI, Troy (and Christine) Laue of Kenyon, Matthew (and Patti Saltou) Laue of Albert Lea; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Schmoll of Houston, TX, Larry Schmoll of Swea City, IA, David (and Deb) Schmoll of Champlain, Dennis Schmoll of Owatonna, John Schmoll of Sebeka; sisters, Irene (and Chuck) Thomas of Owatonna, Alice (and Steve) Schwering of Lamberton, Katherine (and Jeff) Jacobson of Owatonna, Bernice Norton of Weatherton, TX, Ruth (and Marv) Thompson of Owatonna, Nancy Schmoll of Boise, ID; sister in law, Bonnie Schmoll of Shakopee and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; brothers, Roy Schmoll, Philip Schmoll; sisters, Harriet Kessler, Cindy Schmoll. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and at Grace Lutheran Church, Nerstrand on Friday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11am at Grace Lutheran Church with The Reverend Don Kloster officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery.
