Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Norma Woock announces her unexpected passing from cardiac arrest on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Norma was born on August 19, 1937 to Frank and Eugenia Gribnau in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, the 12th of 13 children. Norma met a young man from Minnesota stationed in Spokane, WA, Gerald Woock, and they were married on August 31, 1957. They were blessed with two boys, Rodney and Ronald. Following Jerry's Air Force discharge, they moved to Minnesota and lived in South St. Paul for several years before buying a small farm in the Sogn Valley north of Kenyon. Jerry's work took them to Oklahoma and to Fort Worth, Texas, where they both retired. Since their retirement, they have traveled the country in their motorhome and always returned to the Sogn Valley where they spent their summers with Rod and his family. Throughout Norma's life she delighted in children, beginning in high school when she worked as a nanny for a family in Coeur d' Alene. She dearly loved her own children and also all of her nieces and nephews, the neighbor children, and her own grandchildren, Celia and Nora Woock, to whom Nana was very special. Norma's companionship, her smile, sense of humor, her flowers, gardens, and love for life will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald Woock; son Rodney (Louise Starr); granddaughters, Celia and Nora Woock; sisters, Teresa Hauck, Patricia (Larry) Sale, Barbara (Larry) Hippler; brother-in-law, William (Linda) Woock and sister-in-law, Julie (Steve) Greshowak as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her son, Ronald; parents; siblings, William, Adam, Anthony, Edward, Pius, Elizabeth, Cecelia, Helen and Alice; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vivian and Donald Vogt.
