Obituary

Olive I. Wetzstein 93 of West Concord died Monday, August 25, 2008 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. She was born November 26, 1914 in Merton Township the daughter of Albert and Selina (Halverson) Strandemo. Olive graduated from Kenyon High School and then attended teachers training in Kenyon. She married Leonard Wetzstein June 30, 1937 at Moland Lutheran Church. After marriage the couple farmed together in Ellington, Township. Olive was an active member of Moland Lutheran, where she was involved in many church activities. Olive is survived by two daughters Marilyn (Wayne) Rasmussen of Maplewood, Carolyn (Thomas) Carlson of Maple Grove, and one son David Wetzstein of West Concord. Olive is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brother Herbert (Jean) Strandemo of Huntsville, AL, and nephew Allen Wetzstein who,during his youth, made his home with Leonard and Olive. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, daughter- in- law Nancy Wetzstein, infant grandson Chad Carlson, three sisters Thelma Danielson, Iona Quaale, Mildred Ross, and three brothers Glenn, Alverne, and Marvin Strandemo. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home - Kenyon on Thursday August 28 from 4-7 PM and at Moland Lutheran Church on Friday for one hour prior to the funeral. Funeral services will be held August 29 at 11:00 AM at Moland Lutheran Church with The Reverend Nancy Edwardson officiating. Interment will be in the Moland Lutheran Cemetery.
