Opal D. Kaiserlik, 84, of Owatonna, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Cedarview Care Center. She was born June 11, 1925 in Merton Township, Steele Co., Minnesota the daughter of Otto and Alida (Jensen) Mork. Opal graduated from Kenyon High School in 1942, and married Russell Kaiserlik on September 29, 1946. In the earlier years she stayed at home to raise her children, and later she worked at the Faribault State Hospital, Faribault school system, and at Foldcraft in Kenyon prior to retiring in 1990. Opal and Russell later moved to Owatonna in 1993. Opal enjoyed being with family especially her children and grandchildren, and also enjoyed crafts and flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Lana (and Keith) Kruger of Blooming Prairie, Junell (and John) Wiese of Lakeville, son, Joe (and Hetty) Kaiserlik of Durham, NC. Five grandchildren Nicole Kruger, Julie Kaiserlik, Laura Wiese, Andrew Wiese, and John Kaiserlik, several great grandchildren, and one sister Lavon Renchin also survive her. Her husband, and two sisters Adeline Mork, and Marlene Knutson preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home Owatonna on Sunday, December 27 from 2-5 PM and at Moland Lutheran Church on Monday from 1-2 PM. Funeral service will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Moland Lutheran Church with The Reverend Nancy Edwardson officiating. Interment will be in the Moland Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Moland Lutheran Church, or Cedarview Care Center.
