Orvis Arnold Viegut, 83, of Owatonna, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home. He was born April 18, 1929 in the Town of Wein, Wisconsin the son of Arnold and Edna (Mueller) Viegut. He attended school in Edgar, Wisconsin and also helped on the family farm. He later attended vocational school for Agriculture in Wisconsin. He married Vivian Payne on July 15, 1950 in Wausau, Wisconsin. He then went to work for 3M. In 1958, they moved to Owatonna where he worked at OTC until his retirement. Orvis loved his family. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren and great grandchildrens activities. He also loved camping with family and friends. Orvis was a talented craftsman. He made grandfather clocks, cabinetry, and many other woodworking projects, which he shared with his family. He also enjoyed his John Deere H tractor. He is survived by his sons, David Viegut of Hope, Robert (and Debra) Viegut of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Garry Viegut of Owatonna; daughters, Lynn (and John) Jensen of Owatonna and LaNelle Viegut (and Mike Robinson) of Owatonna; six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; brother, Arden (and Norma) Viegut of Stratford, Wisconsin; sisters, Everdeen (and Albert) Podevels of Colby, Wisconsin and Janna (and John) Hamman of Wausau, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Melvin Woldt of Wausau, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Mae (and Paul) Held of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vivian, and three sisters, Maralyn Tushinski, LaVerda Woldt, and Grace Kutil. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, Owatonna Area Hospice, or donors choice.
