Owen Jerome Svenby, 81, of Medford, died Sunday, December 24, 2023 at the Owatonna Hospital.

He was born September 24, 1942 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota the son of Norman and Helen (Hogenson) Svenby. He married Janice E. Nowak in 1962 at the Medford Congregational Church and made their home in Owatonna until 1968, when they moved the family to their present home northeast of Medford. Owen worked as a fabricator at OMC, and OEI before working at Cybex, where he worked until he retired.

He is survived by his sons, Scott (Jackie) Svenby of Medford, and Steven (Karen) Svenby of Janesville; grandchildren, Nicole (Josh) Boyle, Ty (Chelsey) Svenby, Calab (Val) Svenby, Zakarias Svenby, Karrie Petersen and family, Katrina Petersen, Kyle (Cearia) Petersen, and Karissa Petersen; and many great grandchildren; brother, Kevin Svenby; sisters, Sharon Storlie, and Judy Ayala.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Svenby, and his parents Norman and Helen Svenby.

Interment will be at a later date in Union Cemetery in Medford Township.
