Pamela Jane Knutson, 58, of Ellendale, died Monday, January 24, 2022 at home.
She was born January 1, 1963 in Mankato, MN, daughter of Peter and Audrey (Davis) Fischer. She grew up in Janesville where she graduated from high school in 1981. Following her schooling, she joined the United States Army and served in South Carolina, Georgia and Texas. She was honorably discharged on August 10, 1987.
While working at Happy Chef in Waseca, she met Michael Knutson. The couple was married on May 4, 1990. Pam also worked at Cedarview Care Center and Cash Wise in Owatonna.
Hobbies and interests included gardening, trips to the Dakotas and fishing up north.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Knutson of Ellendale; mother, Audrey Fischer of North Mankato; siblings, Rhonda Karels of North Mankato and Mike (and Jamie) Fischer of Janesville; brother in law, Wade Borgardts of Le Sueur and numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by father, Peter Fischer and sister, Brenda Borgardts.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church rural Ellendale with visitation one hour prior. Deacon Billie Jo Wicks will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery with military honors by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Due to the COVID pandemic, the family requests facemasks be worn.
