Patricia Ann Blum, 90, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Traditions of Owatonna.
She was born August 12, 1932 in Hospers, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Mary (Block) Wilhelmi. On December 30, 1953, she married Marvin J. Blum at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in LeMars, Iowa. The couple had eight children and later divorced.
She was a homemaker all her life, raising her eight children in Owatonna. Along with caring for her own family, she took care of other children while their parents worked. After her family was grown and on their own, she walked to the Owatonna Nursing Home right behind her home where she worked in housekeeping and laundry.
She loved flower and vegetable gardening, dancing, playing bingo and card games. She never drove a car, so she walked everywhere she went. And, she always had a list that she would give to her children of things she needed.
Faith was very important to Patricia. She attended faithfully St. Joseph Catholic Church and was currently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Angela) Blum of Rochester, Dan Blum of Owatonna, Cindy Draeger of Owatonna, Jeffrey Blum of Owatonna, Tom Blum of Scottsdale, AZ, Tim (Kelly) Blum of Owatonna, Patrick (Gina) Blum of Modesto, CA and Jason (Carol) Blum of Oronoco; sisters, Marian Bobzien of Le Mars, IA and Delores "Dodo" Grady of Seattle, WA; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Wilhelmi and siblings, Bob, Frank, Ed, Sr. Mary Marcia, Rosella "Bootsie" and Dorothy "Dot".
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna followed by a lunch reception at Michaelson Funeral Home.
Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
