Patricia Anne Ekelund, 95, formerly of Owatonna, died Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center in La Crosse, WI.

She was born April 14, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Reynold and Dorothy (Carlson) Lundquist. She was united in marriage to John Ekelund on October 12, 1950 at Lebanon Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They moved to Winona in 1958 and in 1973 the couple moved Owatonna. She worked for the D.A.C. (Day Activity Center) and then in 1981 she started Rainbow Residence. She ran Rainbow Residence until 1993 when she retired.

She is survived by her 4 children; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Ekelund; parents, Reynold and Dorothy Lundquist; son, Thomas Ekelund.

Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Amanda Floy will be officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
