Patricia 'Pat' Johnson, 84, of Owatonna, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family after a five year battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born November 18, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Phillip and Kathryn (Turner) Hankins. She moved with her family to Sioux Falls, SD where her father was a baker. She graduated Lakeville High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to C.R. 'Bob' Johnson on May 19, 1945 in South Carolina where Bob was stationed in the U.S. Navy. In 1950 they moved to Owatonna. Pat was an active volunteer for the American Red Cross. She taught First Aid to the community, police and fire departments. For 17 years she served as chairman of the First Aid Station at Steele County Fair and also Service to Military Families Aide. She also was a volunteer at Heritage Halls. Pat enjoyed collecting and crafting and especially loved baking. She is survived by her husband C.R. 'Bob' Johnson of Owatonna; daughters, Kathryn 'Cappy' (and John) Link of Reno, NV, Roberta 'Bobby' Boergerhoff of Fridley, and Patricia 'Patty' Johnson of Ottawa, Ontario; grandchildren, Kim, Robb, Dana, Kathryn, and Kaleigh; great grandchildren, Seth, Spencer and Tyler; sister, Sally Gullick; brothers, Tom and Phillip Hankins. A gathering will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The family requests those who attend to dress casual and wear Mardi Gras colors in celebration of Pat.
