Patricia M. Luedtke, 90, of Owatonna, died Friday, February 17, 2017 at Owatonna Hospital. She was born January 13, 1927 in Bluffton, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph and Ann (Schleppenbach) Dierkhissing. She moved with her family to Freeport, Minnesota in 1931. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Melrose High School, graduating in 1946. After graduation, she worked at Herbergers Department Store in St. Cloud. She was united in marriage to Darwin Henry Luedtke on February 14, 1947 in Albany. They moved to Waite Park in 1948. She was a homemaker and worked in the family business, Waite Park Cleaners and Shirt Laundry. She was active in the Waite Park American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of Silver Star Post Auxiliary #428. She served as its president in 1958-1959. She lived with her family in Morris and Duluth before moving to Owatonna in 1974. She worked at Owatonna Tool Company for 15 years before retiring. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and her flowers. She loved quilting and made quilts for her 9 children, 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She also donated hundreds of quilts to many organizations. Some of her other crafts included Christmas calendars, ornaments and 3-D nativity scenes. Patricia was active in her children's school activities and P.T.A. She taught Sunday School and was active in her church, Blue Birds and Kittle Ball and was a leader in Cub Scouts. She is survived by her sons, Fredwyn Luedtke of Owatonna, Darwin Luedtke of Corcoran, Charles (Sue) Luedtke of St. Cloud, Robert Luedtke of Champlin, David (Pam Bartz) Luedtke of Owatonna and Gary Luedtke of Owatonna; daughters, LuAnn Schaefer of Waite Park, Cheryl (Pat Bedney) Sorensen of Owatonna and Darlene (Darin) Hanson of Avondale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darwin Luedtke (June 8, 2003); six brothers and six sisters. Visitation will be 4-7pm Tuesday, February 21st at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna and 9:30-10:30am Wednesday, February 22nd at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Owatonna. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Rex Longshore officiating. Interment will be in Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
