Paul Kevin Burgett, 59, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at his home in Owatonna after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born September 17, 1957 in California the son of Elmer and Coral (Gravelle) Burgett. Paul married Veronica Weatherley in California. They moved to Owatonna in 1989. He worked at Hydroax, which later became Catapillar, for 23 years. Following his father footsteps, Paul attended school for truck driving. Paul was a proud and cautious driver traveling coast to coast. He most recently drove for Norsemen, Lake Mills, IA until November, 2015 when he retired due to his cancer diagnoses. Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren and made sure everyone around him was smiling or laughing by his joke telling. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, football, fishing, hunting, and horseracing. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Burgett of Owatonna; mother, Coral Burgett of Owatonna; children, Paul (Jennifer) Burgett of Owatonna, Joe (Kerry) Wemple of Owatonna, James Wemple of Medford, Jason Weatherley and Christine Eidson of Owatonna; 10 grandchildren, Erin, Jeffrey, Elissa, Noah, Elizabeth, Laken, Jackson, Jordyn, Bennett, and Dylan; great great granddaughter, Audrianna; siblings, Linda Burgett of California, John Burgett of Owatonna, Dale Burgett and George Gilman of San Diego, CA; best friend and brother at heart, Tom Weatherley of Medford. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer; brother, David Burgett. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
