Paul Gilbert Kopp, age 69, of Owatonna, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Paul Kopp, the son of Glee and Lorraine (Gilbert) Kopp, was born on July 31, 1952, in Minneapolis. He grew up in Minneapolis graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1970. After high school he spent several moths in New Delhi, India with a missionary doctor, which made a big impact on his life. He returned home and traveled the United States, mostly the eastern side. In 1972, after his dad died, he moved to Menomonie to be with his mother. He attended UW Stout where he met the love of his life Sandy Christianson. They were married on May 14, 1977, at First Baptist Church in Owatonna. They made their home in Owatonna where they raised their two children: Kristen and Joel. He worked for Gandy Co. for over 40 years. Paul was an active member of Bethel Church, serving in several positions in the church. Most recently they attended Grace Baptist Church. Paul enjoyed praying for people and with them. He was an avid baseball fan and could be found having a tough game of whiffle ball in the back yard with his son. He loved the outdoors and trips up north. Paul enjoyed tinkering on his cars, making sure they were clean and polished. Although it wasn't often celebrated, he was a talented artist. He is survived by his wife Sandy Kopp of Owatonna, children Kristen Kopp and Joel Kopp both of Owatonna, grandchildren Anabelle and Daniel Kopp, sisters Linda (and Chuck) Farrell of Minneapolis, Gail (and David) Nelson of Willmar, Joyce (and Rory) Kopp of Chicago, and Carol Clark of Shawnee, OK. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Byron Kopp, sister Zelna Robertz, niece Kathryn Nelson and nephew Jeff Farrell. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church in Owatonna. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday, June 3rd, at Michaelson Funeral Home.
