Paul Henry Schultze, 79, of Grand Meadow, died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Whispering Oak Place in Ellendale.
He was born in Fairmont, Minnesota the son Henry and Eleanore (Laue) Schultze. He grew up in Ceylon where he graduated from high school in 1959. He served four years in the Air Force. On April 16, 1966, Paul married Jean Sette at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. The couple made their home in Grand Meadow where Paul worked for Home Telephone for 52 years. They then moved to Owatonna and for the last two months Paul resided at Whispering Oak Place where he received excellent care.
Paul loved the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He was a proud member of AA and has been sober since 1989. He also was a member of Grand Meadow Lutheran Church where he faithfully attended and served and the Grand Meadow American Legion and Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Schultze of Owatonna; daughters, Lynn (and Jared) Ruedy of Waseca, Jill (and Josh) Parker of Elko New Market and Amy (and Andre) Pirtle of Milwaukee; grandsons, Eli and Max Parker both of Elko New Market; brother, Richard Schultze of Kansas City, MO; sister, Janet Brown of Aurora, CO; brother-in-law, Dale (and Ione) Sette of Owatonna and sister-in-law, Carole Hohenstein of Owatonna.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Eleanore Schultze and an infant brother.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Preston at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021.
Memorials are preferred to the Grand Meadow Veterans Memorial Park.
