Obituary

Pearl Adeline Underdahl, 98, of Kenyon, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at her home. She was born October 15, 1910 in Holden Township the daughter of Andrew B. and Christina Lee. Pearl graduated from Kenyon High School in 1928. She attended a summer session at Maple Plain Bible School in 1926 and Minneapolis Business College majoring in secretarial and businesses courses. She clerked and helped with bookwork at the Holman-Watson dry goods store until offered a secretarial job with Southeastern Minnesota Light Company. Pearl married Richard Underdahl June 24, 1930. She taught 21 sessions of parochial school in the summers. In 1954 Pearl went to work for the Zumbrota Bank and later at Security State Bank for more than 13 years. She then worked for Finseth Law Office. Pearl enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world including trips to Norway, several European countries and a trip to the Holy Land in 1985. Pearl enjoyed the Norwegian language which she often times spoke and translated for others. She was active in the Sons of Norway, Senior Citizens Group and the local SEMCAC organization. Pearl was a member of Vang Lutheran Church where she was the historian for 50 years. She had also been president and a teacher of Sunday school, served as president and secretary of Ladies Aid, church secretary for 6 years and active in bible study. She is survived by her daughter, Cordelle (and Howard) Haugen of Oconomowoc, WI; granddaughters, Rebecca (and Thomas) Cotey of Pewaukee, WI, Heidi Radix of Sullivan, WI; great granddaughters, Danielle Radix and Christina Cotey and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Friday from 4-7pm and at Vang Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10-11am. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00am at Vang Lutheran Church with The Reverend Terje Hausken officiating. Interment will be in the Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Vang Elevator Fund or to the donor''s choice. Visitation: 03/06/2009 16:00 03/06/2009 19:00 Service: and one hour prior to the service at the church. 03/07/2009 11:00
