Peter Pat Michael Bedney, 69, of Owatonna, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born August 13, 1948 in Hope the son of Thomas and Bette (Larson) Bedney. Pat graduated from Owatonna High School in 1966. He then served in the US Marines. Pat held numerous jobs and retired from Viracon. He was a member of AA with 26 years of sobriety. Pat loved to tinker, building crafts and doing handy man work. He was always willing to help others. Pat had a great sense of humor that he shared with those around him. He loved golfing and his time working at Hidden Creek Golf Course. Pat also loved riding his motorcycle and the trips to Sturgis with his son. He is survived by his significant other, Cheryl Sorensen of Owatonna; daughter, Sonja (and Chris) Rath of Leola, SD; sons, Patrick Bedney of St. Paul, Michael Bedney of St. Paul, Cole Bedney of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Stephanie (and Brent) Polan, Stella Rath, Charlotte Rath; great grandchildren, Adyson Polan, Caspyan Polan, Jasper Polan; sister, Bettelou Bakken of Peoria, AZ; brothers, Tom (and Chris) Bedney of Byron, Dick Bedney of Byron, Harry Bedney of Rock Island, IL, Matt (and Les) Bedney of Sturgis, SD and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at St. John Lutheran Church on Monday from 12pm to 1pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 1pm at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Jacie Richmond officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund or to the donor's choice.
