Philip Kyle McIntyre, 83, of Waseca, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca.
Born on November 6, 1941, in Owatonna, Minnesota, Philip was the beloved son of Dr. John A. McIntyre and Margaret (McFarland) McIntyre. He spent his formative years in Owatonna, where he graduated from Owatonna High School in 1960. Over the years, Philip pursued various careers and sometimes even owning his own businesses.
Philip's passion for sports was evident, especially in his enthusiastic support for all Minnesota sports, especially golf, the Minnesota Twins, and the University of Minnesota Football team. He also cherished the times he traveled with his son, John, and his wife, Melladee, finding immense joy in their shared adventures. Philip loved all his family, and he always wished the very best for everyone.
Philip leaves behind his wife, Melladee McIntyre of Waseca; his children, Paul (Patty) McIntyre of St. Joseph, John McIntyre of Waseca, and Linda Moore (Christopher Gregersen) of Owatonna; and his grandchildren, Alexander Elmore (Samantha), Noah Moore, Tiana Moore, and Parker Moore. He is also survived by his brother, James McIntyre of Mound.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John and Margaret, and his brothers, John "Jack" McIntyre, and William McIntyre.
Visitation for Philip will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Reverend Todd Buegler officiating. Philip will be laid to rest at Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
Philip will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
