Phyllis Delores Reynolds, 93, of Owatonna, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her home. She was born November 11, 1923 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota the daughter of Charles and Anne (Steinstugen) Johnson. Phyllis graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. She married Howard Peterson in St. Paul where they lived until moving to Owatonna in the early 1950's. Phyllis stayed at home raising her family prior to working as the secretary at Roosevelt Elementary School, secretary at Owatonna Park & Recreation and later as a real estate agent retiring from Gillespie Real Estate after many years of employment. She married William Reynolds August 3, 1996 in Owatonna. She was a member of the Elk's Club, Beta Sigma and the American Cancer Society. Phyllis served as President of the Minnesota American Cancer Society and was involved with starting the Steele County Relay for Life. She was a three time cancer survivor. She enjoyed her Home Ec. Club, Bridge Club and Tuesday Morning Coffee Group. She is survived by her, son, Roger (and Deb) Peterson of Mooresville, NC, Howard (and Barbara) Peterson of Berwyn, PA, Rick (and Gretchen) Peterson of Eden Prairie, Gary (and Pini) Peterson of Palm Desert, CA; daughter, Sue Peterson Whitney of Lanesboro; son in law, Wayne Hermanson of Owatonna; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Ethel Trebil of Plymouth; sister in law Elma Larsen of Minneapolis and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Peterson and William Reynolds; daughter, Jean Hermanson Visitation with reviewal will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, March 10 from 1pm to 4pm followed by interment at 4:30pm at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church 2 weeks later on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11am.
