Ramona Jean Strohschein, 86, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Homestead Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 28, 1933 in Owatonna the daughter of Gordon G. and Evelyn (Thom) Hanson. Ramona graduated from Owatonna High School in 1951. She married Harland Strohschein October 12, 1952 at St. John Lutheran Church on State Ave. The couple lived in Owatonna where they worked together operating Harland's Tire and Auto for 40 years until her retirement in 1992. Ramona was always focused on her family. She loved spending time with them, caring for them and cherished the special relationship she had with her three sisters. Ramona enjoyed Bridge Club over the years and loved traveling with her husband. She was a great cook, known for her brownies as well as the beaded Christmas Stockings she made with love for her family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harland Strohschein of Owatonna; daughter, Laurie (and Dan) Boeke of Owatonna; son, John (and Shari) Strohschein of Owatonna; grandchildren, Matthew (and Amy) Boeke of Detroit Lakes, Elizabeth (and Joe) Kirk of Center City, Crystal (and Dan) Goldman of Duluth, Derek (and Kristina) Strohschein of Owatonna, Heather (and Tom) Ewert of New Prague; great grandchildren, Mya, Jay, Griffin, Charlie, Dylan, Henry, Oliver; sister, Patricia Hanson of Owatonna, Julie (and Roger) Kittleson of Waterloo, IA She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gordon C. Hanson, Bernard Hanson; sister, Beverly Etherton. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Todd Buegler officiating. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church Mortgage Reduction Fund, Owatonna Foundation, Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund, or to the donor's choice.
