Obituary

Reuben E. Lee, 91, of Kenyon, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Kenyon Sunset Home. He was born April 7, 1920 in Wanamingo Township, Minnesota the son of Andrew and Sybil (Ohnstad) Lee. Reuben attended country school, and then started farming at a young age. He married Lorraine Leidahl on September 7, 1946 at Holden Lutheran Church. The couple then moved to Lorraine's parent''s farm and continued farming together. Reuben was a very faithful farmer and it meant everything to him. He was a member of the Goodhue County Farmers Union, 4-H sheep leader for many years, and participated in the project 200 Bushel Club. When Reuben was not farming, he was spending time with his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a member of Holden Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council and as treasurer for the cemetery board. He was also a township constable, member of the Kenyon Senior Citizens and member of the Goodhue County DHIA. Reuben and Lorraine moved to Kenyon in 1978, but Reuben continued going to the farm daily. Even while he was in the Kenyon Sunset Home for the past year, Reuben continued to ask his sons for updates about what was going on at the family farm. Reuben enjoyed playing cards and being with his family. He is survived by his wife Lorraine Lee of Kenyon, sons, Kenneth (and Donna) Lee and Roger Lee both of Kenyon, grandchildren Jason (and Nikki) Lee of Kenyon, Tammy (and Jacob) Wieme of Zumbrota, and Anna Lee of St. Paul. He is also survived by two great grandchildren Ella Lee and Hadley Wieme. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Thursday August 4, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and at Holden Lutheran Church on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday August 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Holden Lutheran Church with Reverend Heather Culuris officiating. Interment will be in the Holden Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Holden Cemetery Association, Kenyon Sunset Home, or District One Hospice.
