Rhoda Keiper's remarkable 89 years of life ended peacefully on December 9, 2023. Born in Stockton, MN October 24, 1934, she attended Winona High School where she met her husband of 65+ years, Kenneth Keiper (US Army Veteran and later relocated to Owatonna, MN.
Rhoda and Ken raised four daughters: Kimberly (Greg) Dehn of Coon Rapids, MN; Debra (Bob)/Bode Rossini of Hopkinton, MA; Stacy (Eric) Zumbrunnen of Ann Arbor, MI and Melanie Jorgenson & Mark Swenson of Winona, MN.
Family was paramount to Rhoda, her family adored her, and she will be greatly missed. She took pride in raising her four well respected daughters, all of whom gave her and Ken many beloved grandchildren: Elise (Vince) Georgeson of Wauwatosa, WI; Aaron (Jessica) Dehn of Salt Lake City, UT; Ryan (Jackie) Tibbetts of Boston, MA; Kyle (Jaclyn) Tibbetts of Orlando, FL; Wesley (Naomi) Jorgenson of Red Wing, MN; Riley (Breanna) Jorgenson of Eau Claire, WI; Alex Jorgenson, Nathan Zumbrunnen and Kyra Zumbrunnen. In addition to grandchildren, Rhoda leaves behind great-grandchildren, Evelyn/Simone/Aksel Gerogeson, Justin/Reese Jorgenson, Callahan Dehn and Callum Tibbetts. Rhoda always said that the kids kept her young.
Among many interests, Rhoda enjoyed spending time with family (particularly during her favorite Thanksgiving season and every August for the Steele County Free Fair), cooking, baking her famous "Rhoda Rolls" and German chocolate cakes, sewing impressive items for family, local rides for ice cream and many family camping trips. She also loved traveling with her beloved husband, Ken, across most of the USA and even overseas, including trips to the Pacific Northwest, New England, Florida and even Germany and Hawaii.
Those who knew Rhoda well would describe her as: beautiful, kindhearted, selfless, gracious, talented, trustworthy, funny, intelligent, youthful and caring. Rhoda truly cared for others and would go out of her way to help someone in need.
