The public is invited to live stream the funeral on Wednesday, June 24th beginning at 12:55pm at the following link: https://www.wearelivetoday.com/celebration-of-life Richard "Dick" Moen, 93, of Owatonna, died Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie. He was born June 13, 1927 in Clearbrook, Minnesota the son of Martin and Myrtle (Poulson) Moen. He grew up in Canby, Minnesota where he graduated from high school in 1945. He joined the United States Navy and served in Guam. After his military service he attended Gustavus Adolphus College for two years. Dick began his working career with a monument company in Des Moines where he met Patricia "Pat" Collins. The couple married on December 23, 1949. Dick was employed with Skelly Oil, traveling around the Midwest. He eventually took a job at Federated Insurance where he worked for 29 years, retiring in 1989. Dick enjoyed golfing, fishing up north, woodworking, fixing anything, dancing and traveling with Pat, and wintering in Arizona. He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan and supporter of his daughters in their activities as they grew up. He played the French horn in high school and sang with several barbershop quartette and chorus groups. Fitness was important to Dick. It allowed him to downhill and water ski into his 70's, innertube last summer and golf until age 92. He was a member of the Elks, Owatonna Country Club, Abu Bekr Shrine Club and Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the council and sang in the choir. He is survived by daughters, Marcia "Marcy" (John) Colvin of Mason City, Diane (Bob) Jungbluth of Owatonna and Melinda (Paul) Batz of Bloomington; sisters, Arlene Vilas of Storm Lake, IA and Carol Olson of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Smith, Charlie (Chrismar) Colvin, Jennifer (Brian) Schlauderaff, Steven (Tanya) Jungbluth, Lisa (Gordon) Miller, Ben (Sarah) Batz, Katie (Max) Bowell and Anna Batz; 12 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Moen; parents, Martin and Myrtle; siblings, Bernice Zuelke and Glenn Moen. A public visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 24th at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna. Face masks are required. A Private Funeral will be held with The Reverend Julie Ryan officiating. The public is invited to live stream the funeral on Wednesday, June 24th beginning at 12:55pm at the following link: https://www.wearelivetoday.com/celebration-of-life Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna with military honors by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church and the Shriners Hospital.
