Richard Joseph Fedder, 63, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Owatonna Hospital. He was born October 14, 1953 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Lyle and Marcella (Bissen) Fedder. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1972. Richard married Cynthia Massey on July 10, 1976 in Morristown, Minnesota. Richard worked for Culligan's before starting work for Owatonna Tool Company for ten years. Thereafter, he and his sons owned and operated a construction company called Fed's Siding for 14 years. He later worked for Schwan's before retirement. Richard enjoyed camping, fishing, and being a hockey dad. He especially enjoyed attending his granddaughter's activities including track, soccer, basketball, choir, and guitar lessons. He was an accordion player and loved NASCAR driver Dale Earnhart Sr. Richard was also a member of the American Legion as he had served in the Army National Guard Reserve. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Fedder of Owatonna; his sons, Shaun (Shannon) Fedder of Medford, Brandon (Jennifer) Fedder of Owatonna, and Josh (Kathy) Fedder of Medford; 8 grandchildren, Alexis, Cassie, Shauna, McKenzi, Maya, Cheyenne, Makayla, and Blake; 4 step-grandchildren, Marianna, Emma, Kashten, and Kaiden; his mother, Marcella Fedder of Owatonna; and mother-in-law, Virginia Massey of Owatonna. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Fedder; father-in-law, Russell Massey; and his beloved pet dog, Peppe. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Owatonna on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
