IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Raymond
Jarvi
October 12, 1940 – January 25, 2025
Richard Raymond Jarvi, 84, born October 12, 1940 passed away peacefully January 25, 2025 at Benedictine Living Community. Richard was born to Mildred (Makowsky) Thompson and Raymond Jarvi in Duluth, Minnesota.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday February 8, 2025 at the American Legion Post 77, 137 West Broadway Street, Owatonna, Minnesota from 3 pm - 6pm.
Richard was united in Marriage to Kathleen Long in December 1964. Together they had three sons, Daniel, Thomas, and Charles. They were happily married until Kathy passed away in 2009. Richard was fortunate to find love again with Rebekah Madson, they were able to spend many happy years together.
Richard joined the United States Army in March 1965, he was honorably discharged in March 1971. He then served his community with the Owatonna Police Department where he eventually held the position of Sergeant. Richard retired in 1995 but stayed active in the Owatonna Community. Richard was well known in Owatonna and welcomed many conversations with good friends. Richard enjoyed fishing, golfing, and all things cars, including visiting his son in Scottsdale, AZ and going to Barrett-Jackson car auction. We can't forget how much he enjoyed hunting those pesky squirrels and rabbits in the back yard with his trusty bb gun. He would never tell anyone how many he actually got!
Richard is survived by his significant other Rebekah Madson, children Tom (Andrea) Jarvi of Scottsdale, Charlie (Tammy) Jarvi of Owatonna, grandchildren Breyonna, Kealey, Carson, and Madisyn.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Kathy Jarvi, son Dan Jarvi, parents Mildred Thompson, Raymond Jarvi and step father Jack Thompson.
Michaelson Funeral Home, 1930 Austin Road, Owatonna, entrusted with arrangements.
