Richard David Jewison, 68, of Owatonna, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born February 13, 1940 in Mankato the son of Harold and Evelyn (Schafer) Jewison. Richard graduated from Waterville High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in business from Mankato State University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1962. While in the Army he was in Panama working with communications. Richard married Linda Fitzke Dec. 29, 1963 in Norseland at Scandion Grove Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Owatonna. Dick worked for OTC for many years in sales and marketing. He worked on tools for John Deere and Case tractors and also tools for Ford, Chrysler and Toyota cars. He was a member of the Elks and Eagles. Dick enjoyed many things; he built an ice boat, created recipes including soup recipes that were published, and traveled various places including Hawaii, Japan, Korea and Australia. Richard is survived by his wife, Linda Jewison of Owatonna; brother, Harold Jewison of Baxter and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Willard, Edward, and Clifford. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-7pm and on Monday from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2008 at 10:30am at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Foundation, Homestead Hospice House, Steele Co.
